Chris Sharman, Head of Retail Services, Esporta Health & Fitness
We introduced biomechanics screening to our member induction programme. ITS took the time to work with the business for over six-months before delivering expert training which has touched over 400 instructors across the UK and led to biomechanics screens being delivered free of charge to thousands of members on a monthly basis. It is refreshing to be working with a team of such talented and passionate industry professionals. I have no doubt that the biomechanics coaching will continue to develop into the hugely successful international programme that it deserves to be.

The courses

1)Specialist Biomechanics Coach™ Diploma

This is the flagship Biomechanics qualification. It is a nine-month course that includes twelve days in the classroom, online learning, case studies, mentoring advice and a final presentation and exam.
What you will learn: how to complete a thorough screening protocol to fully assess your client. This involves looking at every segment of the body to understand the client’s biomechanical dysfunction. Based on these screening results, you will then be able to prescribe exercises that are client-specific to enable them to perform to the best of their ability.

James Tomkies, Physioelite Ltd
The Diploma course has really been a paradigm shift for me as a physio, in a very positive way. Even in this short time since qualifying, I have had some great results with two patients with chronic low back pain and have reduced their back pain by 60%!!

Diploma modules

The Specialist Biomechanics Coach™ qualification is broken down into 3 modules, each one lasting 3 months with 4 days face to face learning in the class room; each one enhance your skills and continues your learning pathway:

Module One

This is a three month module to qualify as a Biomechanics Coach™. It consists of 4 days attendance, case studies, online learning, mentoring and final practical exam.

What will you learn

In this first module we introduce you to the concept of screening and corrective exercises for the pelvis, spine, neural system and shoulders. These key biomechanical pillars are the corner-stone of any exercise programme wishing to improve the performance and reduce the injury risk of clients.

Module Two

This is a three month module to qualify as an Advanced Biomechanics Coach™. It consists of 4 days attendance, case studies, online learning, mentoring and final practical exam.
Building on the biomechanics model in the Biomechanics Coach™ module, we will show you how to screening the knee and foot and uniquely prescribe orthotics. This module also includes a resistance section teaching how to progress exercises based upon a biomechanical to enable you provide your clients with the capacity to become functional.

Module Three

This is a three month module to qualify as a Specialist Biomechanics Coach™. It consists of 4 days attendance, case studies, online learning, mentoring and final practical exam.
This unique course includes a visit to Keele University’s amazing Anatomy Suite to view spinal specimens. It is a L4 management of low back pain module. This module follows the NICE guidance for the management of Low Back Pain and also meets the criteria to enable fitness professionals to move to Level 4 on the REPs register. The course will help you understand back pathology and adapt exercise and screening for those clients/patients who may suffer from low back pain.

2) Biomechanics Trainer

This is the starting point for gaining a Biomechanics qualification. It is a two-day CPD introduction to intrinsic biomechanics. It will complement existing screening protocols or give those new to screening an excellent platform in which to biomechanically screen their clients and provide the relevant corrective exercises.

3) iMoveFreely Group X instructor

A two-day CPD course, iMoveFreely Instructor is a six-week package for your clients incorporating the ITS Biomechanics system of corrective exercise to help your group exercise clients move more freely.
