 Course duration

Three days. The course is offered as three consecutive days but this is flexible and we can work with your requirements

Assessment and certification

After completing a final assessment successful candidates receive an HSE approved certificate valid for three years.

This course is legally compliant with the current Health and Safety (first aid) Regulations 1981. Upon successful completion of this three day course, first aiders receive certification to allow them to practise for three years after which a re-qualification course becomes necessary. It is strongly recommended that you update your skills by taking an annual refresher.

Emergency First Aid at Work (HSE approved course)

Defibrillation

Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and automated external defibrillation (AED)

This course teaches the essential skills required by an AED operator and gives students the confidence to know what to do in this kind of emergency. No previous first aid knowledge is necessary to attend an AED course.

Who should attend?

This course is suitable for anyone interested in furthering their emergency aid skills, or takes part in an organised first aid scheme. For health care workers, this course serves as a basic module.

What will you learn?

The course covers how to use an automated external defibrillator.

Course content

  • Treatment of an unconscious casualty.
  • Resuscitation.
  • Heart attacks.
  • Getting to know the AED (any type)
  • Operating the AED.

Course duration

Four hours.

Assessment and certification

Continuous assessment by trainer.

In the UK, one person suffers a heart attack every two minutes but the majority could be saved if their heart was shocked back into rhythm. We passionately believe in improving AED access because it has been proven to save lives.

First Aid Requalification

First aid at work requalification

This course updates the first aid skills for people who need to renew their statutory first aid at work certificate and whose existing certificate is still valid.

Who should attend?

This course is for people wishing to renew a valid first aid at work certificate.

What you will learn

The course aims to update and refresh your knowledge of the First aid at work syllabus, while allowing time for revision and practice sessions in preparation for a final assessment.

Course content

The course includes an update of first aid knowledge and skills and a revision of workplace requirements.

Course duration

Two days.

Assessment and certification

Successful candidates receive the full HSE -approved First aid at work certificate valid for three years after completing a practical skills test.

Paediatric First Aid

This course is a paediatric first aid course and meets the requirements of the Early Years foundation stage statutory framework.

The course focuses on emergency scenarios that are faced by professionals, including teachers, au pairs and playgroup leaders, looking after young children.

It meets Ofsted requirements for registered childminders and the requirements for nannies under the DfES Approved Carers Scheme.

Who should attend?

This course is for people working with younger children - those up to eight years old.

What you will learn?

The course covers how to deal with accidents and emergencies involving young children.
