John Scrivens, who is completing his Level 5 Biomechanics Coaching Qualification at the moment, is having tremendous success with his Commonwealth Games Athletes. John is the Strength and Conditioning Coach to the Jersey team and has included the Biomechanical Screening for the athletes as part of their preparation for the Games.
John said," we have a team of 47 athletes going to the Commonwealth Games in Sept, we offered the screening as part of the athlete preparation programme that falls with in our sport science/medicine support initiative.
I have managed to screen 30 of them so far! I think this is a great example of how the biomechanical screening can be used and its application to elite sport. I aim to get them all done and re-screened by the departure date".
More and more elite and recreational coaches are using the Biomechanics Coaching to compliment their existing expertise and are finding it an invaluable method of providing a more thorough and complete conditioning programme, which obviously includes injury prevention and optimal performance.
