An introduction to Biomechanics

About the course

This course is an introduction to Biomechanics and how Biomechanics can impact up your exercise prescription. In this course you will learn a fundamental screening programme that provides objective measures that are timely and simple to use to highlight any faulty mechanical problems with your clients and how to manage them with corrective exercises. This improves the safety of your gym routines and makes them more relevant to your individual client.


Learning outcomes

  • Demonstrate specific pelvic mobility, muscle spasm and spinal mobility screens
  • Demonstrate how to structure an individual biomechanical conditioning programme
  • Demonstrate how to biomechanically assess the shoulder girdle and gleno-Humeral Demonstrate the ability to create an individualised exercise programme based on an individuals screening results and previous biomechanical history
  • Demonstrate excellent coaching skills to enable your client/patient to understand your findings

Pre-requisites

  • L2 fitness/coaching qualification or above.
