Martin Haines and Jo Rainsley ran the golf seminar this month with a great attendance from Biomechanics Coaches. Some of the coaches were experienced in golf and others had never played so it was a great mix of experiences.
We discussed the fundamentals of the golf swing and then spent a considerable time brainstorming the consequences of biomechanical flaws in terms of injuries and swing faults. We covered topics like; how a leg length discrepancy can affect the swing plane and the resultant shape of shot. We also looked at other biomechanical problems like tight sciatic nerve, tight median nerve and hip joint immobility.
The group were excellent and their biomechanics knowledge allowed them to problem solve their way through the practical session, even those who were not golfers themselves. Well done everyone... we have more golf seminars to follow; vist the Biomechanics Courses Dates page for more information.
