Budding Future Olympians supported by local Biomechanics Coaches
Canoe Slalom has an impressive record of success at Olympic level. The Talent Identity Academy Programme, run jointly by GB Canoeing and Canoe England, aims to find and support young people with the potential of emulating the great moments in Barcelona 1992, Sydney 2000, Athens 2004 and Bejing 2008 and deliver them onto the medal podium at the 2020 Olympic games.
And local biomechanics coaches will be on hand to help them achieve their goals.
A total of 10 paddlers, three girls and seven boys, have been selected onto the Academy from Rushcliffe School, West Bridgford, Nottingham. These 11 and 12 year-olds have demonstrated that they have the potential to become Olympic level canoe slalom paddlers.
